Not to disagree with you, but you should know that solely based on the numbers there is no labour shortage in Germany (not yet at least, the boomers are still a few years from retiring). There are more people without a job than there are reported job openings. The free market fans from the FDP are using it as an argument for their crackdown on social benefits to force people into exploitative jobs. Germany is of course as you said still reliant on immigration to remain stable, at least in the middle- to long-term.
